My Non-scale Progress

When I made the decision to go Paleo, some of the seemingly counter-intuitive principals came easy to me, such as giving up grains, dairy, and legumes. Some of them took a little more time to sink in, such as eating way more fat and saturated fat then the government recommends, and no longer needing to do some form of cardio exercise for an hour or longer, everyday. Change is hard. Especially if you think you are doing all the right things, based on the sheer number of people saying the same thing. Turns out, I was NOT doing the right things, and that is why I kept having limited if any success.

Even as all this new information sunk in, and I was making incredible progress in transforming my body inside and out, I continued to measure my progress by my scale. It funny, 8 months ago when I hit my first round of Paleo self-doubt, I took measurements. I took measurements 60 days later. The scale had not moved. But my inches went down (see this post). Why that result/data didn't stick and provide me with the exact justification I was looking for at that moment, I don't know. I am FINALLY ready to ditch my scale.

From now on, progress will only be measured in inches lost. Further reading from people that have been at this way longer then me: HERE and HERE
